नेशनल हाईवे-130… रात के करीब साढ़े तीन बजे… सन्नाटा, ठंडी हवा और हाईवे पर दौड़ती गाड़ियां। तभी रतनपुर के हाईवे किंग ढाबा के पास एक कार रुकती है और कुछ ही सेकंड में पूरा सीन बदल जाता है। दो कारें तेज़ी से आकर रुकती हैं, चार युवक उतरते हैं, मारपीट होती है, चीख-पुकार मचती है और पलक झपकते ही कार, मोबाइल और नकदी लेकर आरोपी फरार हो जाते हैं। लेकिन कहानी यहीं खत्म नहीं होती। कुछ ही घंटों में रतनपुर पुलिस ने इस सनसनीखेज लूटकांड को एक्शन फिल्म की तरह ट्रैक किया और अंतरजिला ऑपरेशन चलाकर चारों आरोपियों को दबोच लिया।
घटना – मिनट दर मिनट
दिनांक 1 फरवरी 2026, रात लगभग 3:35 बजे।
प्रार्थी विजय कुमार राज, उम्र 48 वर्ष, निवासी तिवरता थाना दीपका जिला कोरबा, अपनी स्विफ्ट डिजायर कार क्रमांक CG 19 AE 3400 में अपने तीन महिला रिश्तेदारों के साथ बिल्हा क्षेत्र में मेला देखकर लौट रहे थे। रतनपुर के पहले नेशनल हाईवे-130 पर स्थित हाईवे किंग ढाबा के पास वाहन रोका गया।
इसी दौरान अचानक दो कारें मौके पर पहुंचीं—एक सफेद रंग की क्रेटा और दूसरी हरे रंग की कार। चार युवक कार से उतरे और बिना किसी चेतावनी के प्रार्थी पर टूट पड़े। मारपीट के बीच आरोपियों ने स्विफ्ट डिजायर कार, कार में रखे 03 नग मोबाइल फोन और महिला पर्स में रखी 7–8 हजार रुपये नगदी लूट ली और अंधेरे का फायदा उठाकर फरार हो गए।
एक्शन में पुलिस
घटना की सूचना मिलते ही थाना रतनपुर में अपराध क्रमांक 76/26 धारा 126(2), 309(4), 3, 5 बीएनएस के तहत मामला दर्ज किया गया। सूचना तत्काल वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों तक पहुंची।
पुलिस उप महानिरीक्षक एवं वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधीक्षक श्री रजनेश सिंह के निर्देश पर अतिरिक्त पुलिस अधीक्षक ग्रामीण श्रीमती मधुलिका सिंह एवं अनुविभागीय अधिकारी (पुलिस) श्रीमती नुपूर उपाध्याय के मार्गदर्शन में थाना प्रभारी रतनपुर के नेतृत्व में विशेष टीम गठित की गई।
टीम ने बिना देरी किए हाईवे रूट, मोबाइल लोकेशन और तकनीकी साक्ष्यों के आधार पर ट्रैकिंग शुरू की। पुलिस की गाड़ियां अंबिकापुर दिशा में दौड़ पड़ीं। कुछ ही समय में लोकेशन कंफर्म हुई और जिला कोरिया व अंबिकापुर क्षेत्र में दबिश देकर चारों आरोपियों को धर दबोचा गया।
पूछताछ में खुला पूरा प्लॉट
थाना लाकर पूछताछ में आरोपियों ने बताया कि प्रार्थी विजय कुमार राज ने तंत्र विद्या और पूजा-पाठ के जरिए रुपये बढ़ाने का झांसा दिया था। इसी लालच में आकर आरोपियों ने लगभग 2.5 लाख रुपये दिए, जिसे छलपूर्वक ठग लिया गया। रुपये वापस मांगने पर इंकार होने के बाद आरोपियों ने अपनी क्रेटा कार क्रमांक CG 15 EA 2300 और अर्टिगा कार क्रमांक CG 16 CM 4564 से पीछा कर रतनपुर के ग्राम मदनपुर के पास नेशनल हाईवे पर लूट की वारदात को अंजाम देना स्वीकार किया।
रिकवरी
पुलिस ने आरोपियों के कब्जे से लूटी गई स्विफ्ट डिजायर वाहन क्रमांक CG 19 BE 3400, 03 नग मोबाइल फोन और 8000 रुपये नगद, कुल जुमला कीमती लगभग 2,28,000 रुपये की शत-प्रतिशत बरामदगी की। इसके साथ ही घटना में प्रयुक्त 01 क्रेटा कार, 01 अर्टिगा कार और 04 नग मोबाइल फोन भी जप्त किए गए।
गिरफ्तार आरोपी
विद्यादास महंत – पिता स्व. ग्वालदास महंत, उम्र 43 वर्ष, निवासी सीतापुर खड़गांव थाना सीतापुर जिला सरगुजा, हाल मुकाम तहसील कार्यालय परिसर लखनपुर जिला सरगुजा।
रामसुंदर – पिता रामसाय, उम्र 32 वर्ष, निवासी बनखेता खरवर थाना चरचा जिला कोरिया।
राजीव कुमार सिंह – पिता सुरेंद्र सिंह, उम्र 37 वर्ष, निवासी हर्रापारा वार्ड क्रमांक 01, थाना बैकुंठपुर जिला कोरिया।
गुलशन कुजुर – पिता स्व. सुशील कुजुर, उम्र 47 वर्ष, निवासी चरचा कालरी थाना चरचा जिला कोरिया।

इस हाई-प्रोफाइल कार्रवाई में थाना प्रभारी निरीक्षक निलेश पाण्डेय, उप निरीक्षक मेलाराम कठोतिया, प्रधान आरक्षक सैय्यद अकबर अली, आरक्षक शशिकांत तिवारी, मनीष जायसवाल और देवानंद चंद्राकर की सक्रिय भूमिका रही।
वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधीक्षक (उप पुलिस महानिरीक्षक) ने इस पूरे मामले को लेकर स्पष्ट संदेश दिया कि झाड़-फूंक, तंत्र विद्या या रुपये डबल करने के नाम पर लोगों को बहकाने वालों पर सख्त वैधानिक कार्रवाई की जाएगी और ऐसे मामलों में तुरंत अपराध दर्ज किया जाएगा।

Suddenly, a car stops near the Highway King Dhaba in Ratanpur, and in a matter of seconds, the entire scene changes. Two cars quickly pull up, four young men get out, a fight breaks out, screams erupt, and in the blink of an eye, the accused flee with the car, mobile phones, and cash. But the story doesn’t end there. Within a few hours, the Ratanpur police tracked down this sensational robbery like an action film and, through an inter-district operation, apprehended all four accused.
The Incident – Minute by Minute
February 1, 2026, approximately 3:35 AM.
The complainant, Vijay Kumar Raj, age 48, a resident of Tivarta, Deepka police station, Korba district, was returning from a fair in the Bilha area with three female relatives in his Swift Dzire car number CG 19 AE 3400. The vehicle was stopped near the Highway King Dhaba on National Highway-130 before Ratanpur.
At that moment, two cars suddenly arrived at the scene—a white Creta and a green car. Four young men got out of the cars and attacked the complainant without any warning. Amidst the assault, the accused looted the Swift Dzire car, 3 mobile phones kept in the car, and 7-8 thousand rupees in cash from the women’s purses, and fled taking advantage of the darkness.
Police in Action
Upon receiving information about the incident, a case was registered at Ratanpur police station under crime number 76/26, sections 126(2), 309(4), 3, 5 BNS. The information was immediately conveyed to senior officers. On the instructions of Deputy Inspector General of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Rajnesh Singh, a special team was formed under the leadership of the Ratanpur Police Station in-charge, under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Mrs. Madhulika Singh and Sub-Divisional Officer (Police) Mrs. Nupur Upadhyay.
The team immediately started tracking based on highway routes, mobile locations, and technical evidence. Police vehicles sped towards Ambikapur. The location was confirmed in a short time, and after conducting raids in the Korea and Ambikapur districts, all four accused were apprehended.
The entire plot revealed during interrogation
During questioning at the police station, the accused revealed that the complainant, Vijay Kumar Raj, had deceived them by promising to multiply their money through occult practices and rituals. Lured by this promise, the accused gave him approximately 2.5 lakh rupees, which he fraudulently stole. After he refused to return the money, the accused admitted to chasing him in their Creta car (number CG 15 EA 2300) and Ertiga car (number CG 16 CM 4564) and committing the robbery on the National Highway near Madanpur village in Ratanpur.
Recovery
The police recovered the stolen Swift Dzire vehicle (number CG 19 BE 3400), 03 mobile phones, and 8000 rupees in cash from the possession of the accused, a total recovery of approximately 2,28,000 rupees. Along with this, one Creta car, one Ertiga car, and four mobile phones used in the incident were also seized.

Ramsunder – Son of Ramsay, age 32 years, resident of Bankheta Kharwar, Charcha Police Station, Korea district.
Rajeev Kumar Singh – Son of Surendra Singh, age 37 years, resident of Harrapara Ward No. 01, Baikunthpur Police Station, Korea district. Gulshan Kujur – Father Late Sushil Kujur, age 47 years, resident of Charcha Colliery, Charcha Police Station, Koriya District.
